Man Fatally Shot in North Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a man on Thursday night in a North Charlotte neighborhood. Police responded to reports of shots fired at 9:24pm in front of 1812 Allen Street on Thursday May 13, 2021. 911 calls had reported a man was shot.

CMPD officers arrived to the scene a found a man suffering from gunshots wounds on Allen Street. Paramedics with Mecklenburg EMS confirmed the victim died at the scene from his injuries.  Police established a crime scene and began to canvas the Villa Heights neighborhood for witnesses who may have seen anything. While officers canvased the neighborhood additional reports came into 911 reporting a home on Seigle Avenue had been shot into. Its unclear if the gunfire into the home is related to the shooting.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene units were requested to conduct an investigation into the fatal shooting. CMPD said no suspects have been arrested at this point. The investigation is continuing.
