On Tuesday May 11, 2021 at 5:17AM Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, MEDIC & Charlotte Fire Department responded to a reported shooting at the McMullen Wood Apartments on Walsh Blvd. Initial reports said a woman had been shot by a man. Charlotte Fire Station 24 arrived within minutes near the scene staging for clearance.
As Firefighters were staging a man approached them with gunshots wounds. The man had gunshot wounds to the right leg and right shoulder. Multiple CMPD officers began searching the complex for additional shooting victims. No other shooting victims were found. The man was shot 3 times according to sources. MEDIC rushed the man to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
The complex was taped off in yellow crime tape with a K-9 Unit searching the area. Crime Scene Technicians arrived on scene around 6:00AM and began to collect evidence. CSI Technicians could be seen going in and out of an apartment while detectives and officers interviewed 2 females at the scene. The investigation is ongoing
